Holy Week is coming!
Dear church family,
I look forward to worshipping with this Sunday, Palm Sunday! I have always enjoyed Palm Sunday. When my children were little they would parade into the church waving palms and shouting Hosanna. It is so tempting to take this joyous Sunday and want to skip straight to Easter Sunday. This week - holy week, is important. It is a week for us to remember Christ and his sacrific on the cross. It is a week for us to relieve and remember the life of Christ and what was given for our salvation. I have enjoyed our bible study this lent on "Why Did Jesus Have to Die?" It has been thought provoking and as someone in the class said last Sunday, "this is some heavy stuff."
Wednesday I will be a guest preacher at the Broken Arrow Indian Mission Church at noon. It is a great honor to be invited to share the word of God this holy week with them. If you are free, I invite you to join our brothers and sisters there. They will have service every day at noon with a lunch to follow.
Sunday we will wave palms and celebrate Jesus entering Jerusalem. Good Friday we will have a shared service with Porter UMC at 6 pm. This is a service of darkness and can be quit humbling and powerful. My children tend to call it black Friday service. I hope you will join us. Sunday we will celebrate our risen Savior at 10:45 am. Invite friends and family to join us in this celebration.
