Hello Everyone!
Last Sunday, George and I were not at the service. We spent Sunday at Boston Avenue, where our youngest child, Claire, attends church. It was Senior Sunday, and the church recognized all the high school seniors graduating. There were 5 from different schools. It was a wonderful time celebrating Claire's faith journey and her academic journey. I will admit I did get a little teary eyed at the slide show presentation. I love Senior Sunday in churches. I love celebrating all the accomplishments of our youth and just celebrating this transition in their life. The fall will bring a new beginning and a new adventure. I think what I love most about teens and young adults is the energy and all the possibilities. I hope that if you have a graduate in your family, you will get to celebrate and dream with them.
I want to thank everyone who helped while George and I were gone. Thank you to everyone for making Chandler feel welcome. Thank you, Arlita, for getting Chandler oriented and reading. I did go back and listen to Chandler preach. It gives me so much hope for our denomination and our world. It was nice to enjoy worship and be a parent on a Sunday.
This Sunday is Mother's Day. I want to express gratitude for all the women who have played an important role in the lives of young people- whether you're a mother, aunt, cousin, neighbor, or mentor. Last, we will be feeding the youth choir on the 27th. Wanda is coordinating this meal. Please help if you are able.
Shalom,
Pastor Stacy
